The Plastic Fashion Concept
I love when fashion adopts unconventional materials and converts them into wearable pieces. The plastic trend emerged a few years ago from runways and quickly adopted on the streets.Ranging from purses to shoes and jackets, the clear aspect of the pieces recall a futuristic feel.
I have to mention that it was a bit difficult
to narrow down the number of photos selected for the post.There is such a wide
variety of designs for this concept.Coming in different colors and mixed with
other textures,garments made of plastic can either look cheap,edgy and
innovative or like Chanel(image on the left),still maintaining a classic touch.
Play with textures and incorporate
a transparent item like a transparent plastic jacket(Miu Miu, Comme des Garçon)
to a structured dress to get a minimal look.However if you want to maintain a
casual style,a pvc clutch or bag like Jil Sander’s is the perfect item.
